Helpful Links

I am by no means an expert or consider myself a world traveler (yet). I’m kind of learning as I go and I’m always looking to find ways to travel for cheap. Here are some helpful links to services that I use in my travels that may also help you get started in becoming a citizen of the world!:

airbnb.com: Rent unique places to stay from local hosts in 190+ countries.
thepointsguy.com: Tips/tricks for using credit card rewards to help fund your globe trotting.
nerdwallet.com: They examine the offers, crunch the numbers and recommend the right cards for your lifestyle and needs.
hipmunk.com: The site and mobile apps save you time by comparing top travel sites so you don’t have to. The unique display makes it easy to visually compare results and choose what’s best for you.

As far as credit cards go, I’ve relied heavily on these to fund my recent travels. The key is to keep a $0 balance to keep a high credit score and not rack up any debt. The cards I’ve used are the Capital One Venture and the Barclay Arrival Plus Mastercard. The reason I picked these cards is because of their excellent sign up bonuses and Rewards Rate. But like I said, I’m still learning the card game and I have a long way to go to get it all figured out.

What sites or cards do you use? Any recommendations?
